Detailed Parts Colours.

Bumpers.

All bumpers were painted in Silver White (L82).

Except vehicles painted Ivory White like ambulances which were Lotus White.

Deluxe bumpers were usually painted in the vehicles body colour.

     

 

Headlining.

Grey card was fitted to most commercial vehicles.

Cloth was fitted until about 1963/64, onwards of this date perforated vinyl was fitted.

 

Wheels.

All wheels were painted in Silver White (L82).

Except vehicles painted Ivory White like ambulances which were Lotus White.

Some Microbuses wheels between 1958 & 1961 were painted Black.

Sealing Wax Red & Beige Grey buses usually had Beige Grey wheels.

Hubcaps.

Panels, Kombi's, Pickups Single & Double were normally painted Light Grey.

Some vehicles painted in dove blue were painted dove grey Pre 1963, then dove blue.

All Deluxe Microbuses had chrome hubcaps as standard.

Many standard microbuses & kombis had chrome hubcaps as an option (M181).

From 1950 to 1963 all hubcaps had the VW logo painted in black, but sometimes the owner

could specify another colour or in the lower body colour.

After 1963 all hubcaps were just plain chrome.

 

Seat Frames.

Seat frames Pre 1964 were all painted black, 1964 onwards they were painted silver beige.

 

 

Steering wheel & column, Gearstick & Handbrake.

Panels, Kombi's and Pickups were painted black with a black steering wheel.

All other models pre 1961 were painted in stone beige, post 1961 was silver beige.

All Microbuses & Deluxes had a ivory steering wheel.

Only Deluxes models had the gold wolfsburg crest horn button.
